The ‘Wild Wisdom of the Faery Oracle’ is enchanting. It’s both delightful in presentation and dynamic in content; not a ‘fluffy’ or insipid Oracle like so many others in its genre. Lucy Cavendish is not afraid to describe the Fae as they truly are, embracing both their ‘light’ and ‘dark’ qualities in meaningful, helpful ways. She speaks of the Gentle People with passion, honouring their power and beauty equally with every message she offers. I particularly admire Lucy for her daring, with her invitation to the reader to eat Fairy food, to embrace Faerie love and her acknowledgement of the Dark Faerie as ‘necessary’ (though tricksy) - aspects of the Fae others describe as being 'negative'. Her wisdom break through the barriers of fear created by so many years of indoctrinated superstition, which is refreshing. Of the cards, the illustrations are captivating. Selina Fenech must truly have a close kinship with the Fae to be able to showcase them so eloquently.
